General Clifton Teaches at World Youth Convention Holiness Institute

A HIGHLIGHT of day 11 of 'Time To Be Holy 458' – the holiness institute attended by 26 international delegates ahead of The Salvation Army's World Youth Convention – was the visit of General Shaw Clifton and Commissioner Helen Clifton.

The General gave two talks to delegates at the Centre for Spiritual Life Development in London, increasing their awareness of the vital role holiness plays in the life of The Salvation Army. In his first talk he spoke about the five physical signs of the Holy Spirit's presence, as recorded in the Bible – fire, wind, water, oil and a dove. His second talk focused on the fruits of the Spirit and the gifts of the Spirit.

Commissioner Clifton prayed for the outcome of the ministry the young people will participate in from Monday 5 July. The delegates will have opportunity to put their two weeks of study into practice when they move to Denmark for 'Time To Serve 24-7', a period of practical service and evangelism. They will be joined in Denmark by the youth convention delegation from Congo (Brazzaville) and will be assisted by Danish delegates.

The General said, 'This group of 26 young people from all over the world are hungry for the things of God, and have much to contribute to the present and future mission of the Army. My wife and I were marvellously encouraged by our time with them.'

The main convention starts on 15 July in Stockholm, Sweden, when 1,000 delegates meet together for four days of worship, fellowship and teaching.

The latest information on the convention and 'Time to be Holy 458' can be found on the World Youth Convention website, www.raisedup.org
